Just picked up a used 2020 Ioniq SEL, but it’s totally missing those front parking sensors. Anyone dealt with getting aftermarket ones installed? Is the car already wired up for them or what? And does Hyundai have a kit for this kinda thing? Thanks a bunch

You can do it, but this is pretty complex. Why? Your model doesn’t have the pre-wiring needed. More than that, Hyundai doesn’t offer an official kit for this, so, yeah, go for an aftermarket option. But here is another problem. Aftermarket sensors usually require a bit of modification and might not integrate perfectly with the car’s existing systems. Good luck on that.

My Cousin’s got a 2019 Ioniq Hybrid and added aftermarket parking sensors last year. Turns out it wasn’t pre-wired, so the shop had to wire them from scratch, cost about $300, cant exactly remember... No Hyundai kit for it, but plenty of universal options worked fine.

I’ve looked into this too, sadly, the SEL trim doesn’t have front sensors standard or pre-wired from the factory. But there are plenty of aftermarket kits that do the job well, and some even link up to the existing display. Might be worth calling your dealer too, sometimes they can recommend a trusted local installer.
