So I've got this Ioniq 5 AWD and I'm curious - is it okay to shift into Neutral when I'm coasting down a hill? I know for regular cars it's a no-go, but what about EVs like ours? Got any thoughts on that?

You can put it in N while sitting at a stoplight that takes forever to turn green. However, cruising in neutral with an automatic transmission is a bad idea. You can coast in neutral if you have a manual transmission though.

Technically, shifting into Neutral disables the regenerative braking system in your Ioniq 5, which means you're losing the benefit of energy recovery on descents. Setting the regen to Level 0 is a much better way to achieve that rolling feel while keeping the battery system engaged and ready. Also, keeping it in Drive improves safety since you’ll be able to accelerate instantly if needed.
