I'm really digging my Ioniq 5 Namsan Edition, but man, the DAB reception sucks big time. It's constantly cutting out. Any hacks to fix this? I'm thinking maybe a booster or amp could sort it, but I'm clueless which one would actually work with this ride. Any tips or advice?

I had DAB on my Carnival before and I had that same problem before. This is what I did, I fed 3 wires through the same hole where the old antenna was. Then, I ran the cables up to the car's head unit and connected them to the accessory power and the DAB dongle. After plugging everything in, everything worked perfectly after.

DAB isn’t the best when it comes to consistent coverage, especially in hilly or rural areas. A booster might help, but it’s worth trying simpler fixes first, like ensuring the antenna has a clear line of sight (nothing blocking it like roof boxes) or moving your car slightly to see if it’s just a signal dead zone. It might also be worth seeing if your dealer has a solution, they could adjust the antenna or check for grounding issues.

Why don't you use Android Auto or Car play for media?

You can try a signal booster or amplifier and make sure you get a booster made for DAB not just a regular antenna amplifier because they work on different radio waves. Check that your antenna is plugged in properly at both the radio and the antenna itself since a loose connection is often the problem. If ever you will use a booster make sure it;s compatible with your Ioniq 5 and that you install it correctly to avoid electrical problems.
