I’ve been considering trading in my Tesla Model Y for a used Ioniq 5 (probably a 2022 model) and wanted to get some insight from those who already own one. My main reason for switching? Well, let’s just say I’m looking for a fresh start away from all the Tesla and Elon-related drama.

A few things I’m wondering about:
1️⃣ From what I’ve read, the RWD Select trim has the longest range. Is that true?
2️⃣ I already have a Tesla home charger installed, would I be able to use it with the Ioniq 5?
3️⃣ Has there been any news about an adapter to make Tesla Superchargers compatible with the Ioniq 5?

I love EVs and I want to make sure this switch makes sense before I commit.

I think you’ll really enjoy the Ioniq 5 if you’re looking for something less connected to the Tesla ecosystem but still an efficient, fun-to-drive EV.

Range: Yes, RWD Select gets the best miles per charge.
Home Charging: You’ll need a Tesla-to-J1772 adapter for your existing charger.
Superchargers? Not yet, but Hyundai will adopt NACS by 2025, so it’s coming!

If you do the swap, I think you’ll appreciate the comfortable ride and ultra-fast charging speeds!

Have you considered how the driving experience and features of the Ioniq 5 compare to the Model Y, aside from the drama surrounding Tesla?
