Just leased a new Ioniq 5 SEL, love the car so far! However, I noticed there’s no basic 120v charge cable included. Is this the 'granny' charger people talk about? I’d feel more comfortable having a trickle charger in the car, just in case. Does anyone know where I can buy one and which model is best? I believe the owner’s manual refers to it as a Portable Charge (Type A), but I’m looking for recommendations. Thanks in advance!

It's a bit of a headache that they're leaving out the 120V "granny" charger these days especially when you just want that backup juice. For a reliable portable charger, you're looking for a "Level 1 EVSE" like Amazon, EV specialty shops, or even your dealer might have options, just check the reviews and make sure it's UL listed for safety. Brands like Lectron or Tesla's mobile connector (with an adapter) are often mentioned, but double-check compatibility with your Ioniq 5's plug type. And hey, if you're really feeling handy, some folks even build their own, but that's a whole other level of DIY!

Yes, that’s the “granny” charger, you can find good options from Lectron or Mustart. Check amperage compatibility before buying.
