Leaving the fob inside the car

Is it possible to keep the car locked without taking out the fob? I tried leaving it inside, but it did not work. What else could I do?

It's a bit of a hassle, but here’s the trick: yank the battery out of your fob before you ditch it in the car. After that, just use Bluelink to lock up the ride.

Leave the key fob at home and carry the physical key with you. Use your phone to start the car. Leave your phone in the car and bring the physical key with you. You can use the physical key to get back into the car and your phone to start it.

In the Ioniq, the car won’t lock with the fob inside for safety reasons. You could use a keyless pouch or manually lock it with the physical key.

I have read about this weird thing, but I don't know how efficient it is. You can use a combination lockbox, like the ones realtors use for house keys. Wrap your key fob in aluminum foil, place it inside the lockbox, and secure it to the tow hook under your car.
