Has anyone else experienced their 2024 Ioniq 5 unexpectedly shift from Drive to Neutral while using Cruise Control on the highway? It's happened to me twice now, and a message pops up saying "conditions not right for cruise control" The car then coasts in neutral, which is a bit unnerving!

Took it to the dealer today (for a separate rattle fix) and they checked it out, but no trouble codes found. Starting to wonder if I accidentally nudged the shifter, but not convinced. The service advisor wasn't sure either. Any ideas or similar experiences out there?

I haven’t had the exact same issue, but I’ve had a cruise control disengagement due to sensors misreading road conditions, like when lane markings were faint. I imagine Hyundai’s safety systems are being extra cautious, but it’s odd that it coasts into Neutral instead of just turning off cruise. If it keeps happening, I’d ask the dealer to check if there’s a software update for the cruise control system, it might be a glitch they’re aware of but haven’t widely addressed yet.

Maybe the rotary shifter is getting nudged, and it is becoming super touchy. Hyundai’s safety systems also shift gears in certain conditions, but coasting on the highway? Not cool. If it happens again, jot down the details, and don’t hesitate to push for a second opinion. It is certain that other owners reported similar "issues" with sensors and software. Good luck.
