Hello!
I don't know why, but my car (Ioniq 2022 Hybrid shifts gears roughly and creates a jolt sensation whenever I apply light and consistent braking. This doesn't happen when I brake firmly.
I noticed the issues seem to be off when the engine is warm. Do you have any thoughts about this situation? I am sure there are issues with the automatic transmission, and I don't think this is specifically for the Ioniq, but for other automatic transmission cars.

Does your Ioniq have a traditional automatic or a dual-clutch automated manual transmission? The type of gearbox could affect how it shifts, especially under light braking.

Does that come and go? Or do you have it consistently?

It could be related to the transmission shifting too aggressively when braking lightly. It might be a low-speed gear issue or a transmission fluid concern. I'd suggest getting it checked out, especially if it’s happening consistently.

Hello! I have a 2017 Ioniq, and I've noticed similar behavior. Sometimes, it feels like the car shifts abruptly or creates a jolt when I brake lightly, but when I apply firmer braking, it smooths out. I believe it's tied to the automatic transmission's shifting points or how the hybrid system transitions between the electric motor and gas engine.

As the engine warms up, it might behave more smoothly, as you mentioned. It could also be due to how the transmission is trying to manage power in lighter braking situations. It's not unusual for hybrid systems to have unique shifting characteristics compared to traditional automatics. If it continues or worsens, a visit to the dealer might be needed to check for any transmission updates or issues.
