Whoa, I had a pretty freaky experience today! I hopped into my car and outta nowhere, all the doors locked and the power just cut out. I was seriously trapped - couldn;t unlock the doors or even use my key, nothing. Had to call my husband to come rescue me with his spare key. Has anyone else had this crazy thing happen? Any clue what's going on? I’m freaking out a bit about getting back behind the wheel.

The inside handles on this car are all mechanical, so you’re pretty much in the clear from getting locked inside. Just a little FYI - if someone tries to open the door from the inside while it’s locked, the car’s security system might freak out and set off an alarm.

That sounds terrifying! Could it be a battery issue or electrical glitch? Did the spare key fix everything afterward?

What is the year of your Ioniq? I know there is a mechanical lock lever and door handle on the interior of the door.

That sudden loss of all power and the doors locking is a serious electrical problem and it is understandable that you're shaken up. It could be caused by a bad battery, a malfunctioning relay or issues with the car;s central locking system. You need to get your car checked by a mechanic as soon as possible.
