Brakes went out completely

I had a really scary moment in my Hyundai IONIQ EV recently, my brakes stopped responding completely while driving.

- The brake pedal went all the way to the floor, and I barely managed to stop.
- Thankfully, no one was hurt, but now I’m worried about what caused it.
- Could this be a brake fluid issue, a brake line failure or something else with the regenerative braking system?

Has anyone else experienced sudden brake failure in their IONIQ EV? What to check before I take it to the dealer?

If it were me, I’d skip trying to fix it myself. Assuming your Ioniq5 is still under warranty, I’d recommend calling Hyundai’s roadside assistance. Let them know the car is undriveable, and have them handle the repair. After all, you’ve already paid for the warrantty, so might as well take advantage of it!

That would be a great starting point. If the fluid is on a low level, then you might have a leak somewhere. That is a dealership job, though.
