Everyone should keep a spare battery for their car key. I had a problem with my key not working, but I had a spare. I'm now keeping an extra battery in the glove box. I also found that the old battery was almost dead. I'm going to replace that one too. You can try holding the key near the start button if it happens again, but it's not easy to do while driving.
