Can I control ventilation and heating settings in the Ioniq Electric?

I drive a 2018 Ioniq Electric (based in the UK) and I’ve noticed two quirky things with the ventilation and heating system that are a bit annoying:

In winter, the system always blasts the fan to max on the windscreen/demist setting when I start the car, even if the glass is already clear. If I try to switch the airflow elsewhere, it just reverts back after a few seconds.

Sometimes, the recirculate mode won’t activate, particularly in the city when I’d like to avoid outside fumes. Instead, it flashes “auto” and won’t let me switch.

Is this just how the car is programmed, or is there a setting I’m missing? Any tricks to override these preferences? Also curious if the newer facelifted models (2020 and on) behave the same way.

I've similar quirks with my 2018 Ioniq Electric. When starting the car in colder weather, the system tends to default to the windscreen demist mode with high fan speed, even if the windshield is clear. It seems to be a built-in feature to prevent fogging. for the recirculate mode I've experienced the same issue where it won't activate and flashes "auto." From what I've gathered, this is the car's way of managing air quality and humidity levels automatically.
